MEET THE AUTHOR

I’m Emily, the writer behind the madness. I’m a mother, wife, dog lover, crochet enthusiast, paralegal, Christian, and most notably, I’m flawed and continuously learning.

Growing up, my ultimate dream was to be a writer. I wanted to write and have a book published, and not only that, I wanted to do it by the age of 9. In the spirit of being as transparent as possible, nearly two decades have passed and while a few articles have been published, there are no books under my name.

I often think about my 9 year old self and wonder, would she be happy with what I’ve done so far? But then I look around and see my three dogs, and I know that would’ve sent her over the moon.

While I work in criminal law by day (I do a lot of paperwork), I avidly crochet and watch Judge Judy by night. I live quite an exciting life, I know.

I met my husband in high school and we married two years after we graduated. We moved along quickly, moving out at 20 and getting married within the next two months. We struggled, but we also grew.

After graduating college, we decided it was time to grow in a different way and welcomed Aria into our family in 2018 and Eliana most recently in 2021. While motherhood has already had its ups and downs, it has also been the most amazingly beautiful journey that I’ve ever been on.

This is a season of my life I can see myself flourishing in, but I still occasionally feel myself losing grip. So, with the fast paced life that we’re living, I want to avoid feeling like a note scratched in between the margins of a page. Those notes can occasionally be important so for now, I’m taking the notes that I’ve scribbled down myself and am putting them here.

I’m laying my heart out here, kid, for the sake of transparency.

I don’t know what’s next for us or what we plan to do for the future, but I hope it involves more kids, dogs, and everything in between.
